First Aid Kits And Dealing With Spills

May 22nd, 2012 No comments

Accidents involving harmful substances are bound to happen in an industrial plant. Employees located in an industrial setting are especially in danger of incurring injuries to their hands and arms. In these situations, the risks often cannot be averted, even with engineering and work practice controls in place. Employers must then make sure that their workers are provided with the appropriate first aid kits and safety equipment.

There are various things which should be taken into account when choosing the appropriate first aid kit. One of these would be the type of industry the facility belongs to. Ventures which are involved in mining, for instance, may have particular procedures which would include certain specialized instructions specific to their industry. Another factor would be the kind of hazards which may be encountered in the workplace. Different kinds of hazardous materials would pose different health risks, which in turn would require different medical responses. The number of employees in the area should also be considered, as well as the location of the workplace, and its relative distance to medical service establishments.

Contents which are placed in a first aid kit must be verified to be adequate for the needs of small work spaces. In the occasion of a complex operation, or when multiple tasks are being carried out in a particular location, employers must verify the whether additional first aid kits would be necessary at the worksite. This also involves determining whether supplementary items and/or additional types of first aid kits would have to be set up within the area. Under such circumstances, it may be prove useful to inquire and coordinate with the appropriate medical professional, local fire/rescue department, or local emergency room.

In any occupation today, the possibility of exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals or blood and body fluids cannot be ignored. The spill may be chemical or biological. And spills such as these pose health risks not only to personnel coming into immediate contact with the spill, but can bring danger to the environment, as well. The immediate and effective cleanup and inactivation of spills is thus critical not only for the well-being of employees, but for the protection of the environment surrounding the facility.

In preparing the proper response action regarding an accident such as a spill, the immediate concern is to minimize the overall impact the spill may have on natural and economic resources. The various types of resources and their degree of importance will affect the kind of response options to be used. Moreover, the general impact of the oil spill would have to be determined as well.

The pursuit of maintaining safety, productivity and cleanliness in the workplace should remain a top priority for establishments. In this regard, DAWG has endeavored to provide products and services over the course of more than twenty years. From its beginnings as a small spill control company, DAWG has become a large multi-brand supplier of products which are specially made for industrial safety, personal protection and building maintenance

The same half circle pattern should be used to cut and make a couple of pieces of the fusible interfacing. Placing the bumpy side of the interfacing against the wrong side of the half circle of the fabric the fusible interface should be ironed to the fabric. Cutting the rectangle fabric into 23 x 22 for the front as well as the back of the bag and 13 x9 for the bottom of the bag they should be made ready for sewing.

Sewing Diaper Stacker

Folding one long edge of each of the front rectangles over 1-2 inches towards the wrong side of the fabric and folding it over another half inch fabric, the fabrics should be stitched in place using matching threads. AgeForce – New Pre and Post Workout Patch

May 19th, 2012 No comments

AgeForce has released a patch that helps the body benefit from the effects of Nitric Oxide.  With the New Pre and Post Workout Patch it is possible to maximize the body’s ability to both build muscle mass and recover from a workout.  The new patch from AgeForce does this by using multiple formulas to ensure a beneficial level of Nitric Oxide. The Pre workout or stage one formula is activated as soon as the patch is applied.  The Post workout or stage two formula is delayed for release about four hours after it is applied.

Pros

The Pre and Post workout patch addresses the body’s need for Nitric Oxide regulation both during and after a strenuous workout.  With elevated levels of Nitric Oxide in the system the body is able to reduce the workload on the heart.  By using a double staged delivery system, the patch ensures the maximum benefit of all of the ingredients for up to eight hours after application.  The patch is reported to improve oxygen flow to the muscles as well as boost Human Growth Hormone levels.  Other claims include improved sexual performance and an increase in endurance.

Cons

With a release system requiring an adhesive patch be worn on the skin it is possible to encounter issues with comfort while working out.  Also to be considered is the ability of the adhesive to stay in place while moving the body throughout a workout.  Add to that the issue of a patch staying in place while sweating, and this could be a less than optimal delivery method.

Reported Benefits (reported by AgeForce)

Stage One: Immediate activation for up to four hours

Helps promote wound healing and waste removal by the kidneys
Aides in the synthesis of Nitric Oxide.
Supports the function of Nitric Oxide syntheses and helps promote a healthy cardiovascular system
Enhances blood flow, and memory

Stage Two: delayed for release four hours after application

Increased calcium absorption and recovery from injury
Promotes health of antioxidants in the body
Supports the function of Nitric Oxide synthesis

Utilizing a two stage process for delivery of Nitric Oxide regulating ingredients, the Pre and Post workout patch may see a great deal of use.
